Laser Hair Removal – Sessions III IV

Mmmmm, the last time I wrote about Laser Hair Removal, it was Session II.  I did write a post for Session III but never published it, so let’s just lump III and IV in together.

Session III

I had Session III on Christmas Eve – Merry Christmas Jacie!

Between Session II and Session III, I have had minimal growth.  I only had to shave my face once in the four weeks between sessions. To know how significant that is, I was previously waxing / plucking / shaving twice a week, sometimes more.

In terms of re-growth, I have had no growth on my neck and the sides of my face.  That hair is gone.  I’ll wait until the next Session to determine whether this is permanent but I am hopeful.

I have had re-growth on my lip.  It’s kinda weird because the hair doesn’t grow for three weeks after the procedure and, then, all of a sudden, it grows rapidly, if a little sparsely.

I also had my first session on my under-arms.   I had heard that this one hurts but, to be honest, I don’t think it does.  But, then, I never think laser hair removal hurts as such.  My under-arms were very red for about an hour afterward, but, other than that, no other side-effects.

All up, so uber-thrilled with my results. I’m planning on getting everything lasered in time.  This is a hair removal method that really works.

Session IV

I had Session IV on the Friday just passed.

Between Session III and Session IV, I had no growth on the sides of the face and neck.  So it’s maybe safe to say that this hair is now permanently gone.  And what a difference that makes.  The sides of my face look lighter and even a little ‘glowy’.

The hair on my lip and chin is proving to be the most stubborn.  Once again, I only had to shave once during the four weeks but I’m still finding that, when it starts to grow, the growth is super rapid.  On the bright side, every time it grows back, there is less of it.  And I no longer have a dark shadow on my upper lip.

As for my armpits.  Well…….. I did not need to shave once.  Not once.  By the time I went for my session, the hair had grown to just 1mm.  This is glorious stuff.  It means I can slip on a singlet or sun-dress and not have to worry about whether my under-arms need shaving.  It’s strange to say it’s life-changing, but it totally is.

I also had, for the first time, my knuckles done!  I have a small amount of hair there so my technician, Ruth, just blasted at them.  Three days later, the hairs have dropped out.  I’ll keep you posted as to how they progress.

In short, laser hair removal has changed my life.  It’s amazing.  By the middle of this year, I am hopeful that I will be hair free on the face (except for the hair that I want to have, like my brows, and the blond hairs under my lip that the laser can’t grab).

And, I just wanted to clarify because I had a rather rude email after my last update from someone accusing me of promoting NeoSkin and not declaring it.  I am not affiliated with NeoSkin other than being a customer.  I pay full price for the services I receive and have never asked, nor have I have been offered, compensation for my reviews.  If I rave about NeoSkin, it’s because they’re awesome.

I am always honest about what I receive for review and what I purchase myself.  I have been from the start and I will continue to be honest.

I have to say, I’ve been following your laser adventure from the beginning and now I can’t wait to try it out for myself!

I’m currently saving up and hope to visit a similar clinic soon :)

It’s an amazing thing Diana. I could not have predicted how well it has worked for me. Especially the underarms. The underarms are a revelation.

I got my underarms done last year and I love not ever having to think about them. You are totally right about it being life changing. I am due to start my treatments on my legs this Thursday which I am psyched about. I managed to get one of those deals off one of those websites that offers heavily discounted deals. On this occasion, it was $69 for $550 worth of zapping time. I bought 4 so I can do my legs and my arms for $276 ($2200 worth) which is enough for me to do full leg and lower arm! It took me a while to get a booking and it’s down the gold coast, but it’s still totally worth it since one single leg treatment is normally $300 on it’s own!

It is totally life changing. I can’t emphasise it enough. That deal you got is amazing.

I agree that this is a life changing experience!! I had it done on my side burns which were thick and corse, and trickled down my ear to just below the earlobe i was waxing and plucking for like 8 years.  This always made me self conscience and i have only had 2 treatments but it is pretty much all gone the last treatment i had was mid April and have had a few hairs on each side grow back but nothing noticeable LOVED IT!!

The sideburns are so awesome aren’t they? I love that my face is now smooth.

I had laser hair removal on my legs 7 years ago and it was the best money ever spent for a procedure – EVER. I had a serious ingrown hair infection problem on my inner thighs that would get larger year by year. My inner thighs looked like the cheeks of an acne sufferer in size and severity. Fortunately I found a practitioner that would treat both legs for a reasonable price and she did underarms, chin and lip as well. All up I spent more than a couple of thousand dollars. Worth ever bit of it. Admittedly I did get a good deal and she was generous with doing extra little bits here and there. I still have a few spots that where missed and regrow but I can just run a razor lightly over them and will eventually treat them when I can find someone happy to do spot areas (and not charge me full treatment fees for such small areas) as I no longer live where I used to. Also as I age facial hairs do pop up and I they are good to get rid of too. My clothing is no longer damaged by stubble. My legs fell fresher and cooler in the heat. No longer itchy. Clothes sit smoothly. No more nicks and cuts. My skin is in better condition because I no longer use shaving creams or soaps which are very drying. And HOORAY no more ingrown hairs. More time for other things as I am not shaving both legs & underarms 3-4 times a week. I don’t have to by stuff for shaving or treating the damage it caused. I had laser and found this better than the IPL (which I used for follow up treatments elsewhere). I have dark hair & olive complexion and know that I need to treat the remaining areas before they go gray (eventually they will). Yes it made a big impact on my life for the better. So much easier and lighter to travel and a shorter time to get ready when you don’t need to be concerned with hair, stubble or shaving.
